Jones-Branch Publishes 'Crossing the Line'
Dr. Cherisse Jones-Branch, associate professor of history, has just published Crossing the Line: Women’s Interracial Activism in South Carolina during and after World War II with the University Press of Florida. She documents efforts by women’s groups, both black and white, to change South Carolina’s unequal racial status quo. She credits the work by these women and their organizations with providing much of the foundation for the Civil Rights movement in the 1960s and 70s. More details are available on the UPF website.
