Dr. LaQuita K. Saunders, assistant professor of history and co-director of the Prelaw Center, presented "Lights! Camera! Action!: iMovie and the Student-Produced History Documentary" for the Arkansas Association of College History Teachers in Little Rock. As part of a panel on integrating instructional technology into the history classroom, she discussed the use of student-made documentaries as a replacement or an enhancement of the traditional research paper.

Dr. Rajesh Sharma, assistant professor of renewable energy technology, served as program chair for the Electrostatics Processes Committee at the recent annual meeting of IEEE Industry Applications Society in Dallas. Sharma, who is completing a two-year term as committee chair, also presented a research paper about developing materials for photo-electrochemical hydrogen generation.

Dr. Karen Yanowitz, professor of psychology, was an invited speaker for the STEM Learning and Research Center (STELAR) webinar, "Measuring Student Interest and Motivation in Informal Settings." She discussed the findings from A-State's National Science Foundation-funded program, "CSI: Classroom Student Investigators," especially students' motivation and engagement in STEM a year after they attended the summer camp. The CSI project at A-State is one of the featured projects this week on STELAR's homepage rotator.

Dr. John Mello, professor of marketing and director, Center for Supply Chain Management, co-authored an article just published in Foresight: The International Journal of Applied Forecasting, titled "Collaborative Culture: The New Workplace Reality." The authors anticipate an organizational future in which employees are increasingly performing collaborative work. They describe collateral benefits that ensue from a collaborative culture, which they encourage management to nourish while avoiding counterproductive practices. 

An article by Sandra L. Combs, associate professor of multimedia journalism production, has been published in the latest edition of Race, Gender & Class Journal, a refereed publication. In "The American Dream: Divisible Economic Justice for All," Combs looks at the U.S. economic situation, specifically the poverty level, to see how it measures up to the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream and the American dream and its long-term impact.
