Wheeler Named March Professor of Month
Dr. Amanda Wheeler, assistant professor of athletic training, has been selected by the Learning Outcomes Advisory Council and Office of Assessment at A-State as the March 2016 Professor of the Month. Wheeler was recognized especially for her ability to create an environment of student-faculty trust in the athletic training education program. An online video provides more details about her work.

Bradley is Appointed New Dean of CoEBS
The appointment of Dr. Mary Jane Bradley to become dean of the College of Education and Behavioral Science was announced Friday. Bradley, associate professor and director of Professional Education Programs, joined the A-State faculty as instructor in 1987. She succeeds Dr. Gina Hogue, who has served as interim dean this year. Hill Discusses Research in News Article
Dr. Matthew Hill, assistant professor of finance, was cited in The New York World for his research about business firms' stock prices in relation to those firms' spending on lobbying efforts. His referenced article, "Determinants and Effects of Corporate Lobbying," was published in the journal, Financial Management. Hill was quoted in the article "Investing in Lobbying Pays Off," which is available online.

Salvest and Christensen Show Work in Louisiana
John Salvest, professor of art, and Les Christensen, director of Bradbury Art Museum, were honored guests Friday at the member preview and opening reception for a joint exhibition of their work, "Out of the Ordinary," at the Alexandria Museum of Art in Alexandria, La. As described in the museum news release, the couple works primarily with discarded items re-imagined into works of art. The exhibition continues through May 21.

Bednar Presents Programs at National Conference
Annette Bednar, assistant professor of clinical laboratory sciences, presented two programs for the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS) Clinical Laboratory Educators Conference in Minneapolis. She gave a "lunch 'n learn" on "Surviving Academia" after working in a clinical lab setting, and she discussed her positive experiences with ASCLS's legislative symposium in an effort to recruit other professionals.
