Audrey Skaggs, assistant professor of clinical laboratory sciences, made a presentation at the Clinical Lab Educators Conference. In conjunction with the conference theme of effective learning in the classroom, Skaggs presented a session with two other individuals on "Innovative Technology Uses," with her portion being a demonstration on using Nearpod, an interactive presentation tool, to either flip the classroom or engage students in a lecture.

Dr. Gregory Hansen, professor of English and folklore, is chairing the committee that plans and conducts the annual Delta Symposium. This year's edition, themed "Caring for Community," will feature historian Dr. Richard Mizelle and writer Bobbie Ann Mason. The film "In Country," based on Mason's novel, also will be screened during a joint session with the Delta Flix Film and Media Festival. The symposium schedule is online.

Dr. Marika Kyriakos, professor of music and department chair, recently presented a lecture-recital at the Music by Women Festival conducted by the College Music Society at Mississippi University for Women. Kyriakos discussed the historical context and stylistic influences on the work of French composer Lili Boulanger, the subject of her dissertation, then she and collaborative pianist Dr. Leslie Spotz performed several selections from Boulanger's song cycle.

Dr. Roy Aldridge, professor of physical therapy, was the lead author for a presentation at the American Physical Therapy Association's combined sections meeting in San Antonio. The other authors are graduate students who assist him with the hippotherapy program. The presentation, "The Effect of Hippotherapy on Shoulder Function and Related Disability for a Military Veteran," documented their work with a veteran through the Beck PRIDE Center.

Marc Williams, assistant professor of theatre, presented a performance of "Misery" for adjudication in unarmed combat during the Orlando Stage Combat Workshop. He is certified by the Society of American Fight Directors as proficient in the discipline of unarmed stage combat, as well as rapier, dagger and broadsword combat. Williams is one of only two Arkansans recognized as an "actor combatant" by the Society of American Fight Directors.
