Fluker is April Research Professor of Month Fluker is April Research Professor of Month

Congratulations to Dr. Brook Fluker, assistant professor of aquatic ecology, who has been selected April Research Professor of the Month. Given by the Faculty Research Award Committee, the award recognizes scholarly, research or creative activity significant and relevant to the recipient's discipline. In an online video, Fluker discusses his work with the Arkansas Center for Biodiversity, the National Science Foundation grant, and students' opportunities for research.

 
Camp Presents on Preparation of Nurses

Jessica Camp, assistant professor of nursing, made a presentation in Atlanta at the Master's Education Conference conducted by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing. Her focus was on evaluating how clinical nurse leaders, nursing faculty and deans will get future nurses ready for the changing healthcare and practice environment. The title was "Does Competency-Based Curriculum Affect the Preparation of the Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist?"

Hall Gives Peer-Reviewed Presentations Hall Gives Peer-Reviewed Presentations

Dr. John D. Hall, professor of psychology and counseling, and coordinator of the school psychology track of the Ed.S. program, was joined by A-State school psychology graduate students and fellow licensed school psychology specialists to make three peer-reviewed presentations at the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) convention in San Antonio. A member of NASP's Program Review Committee since 2004, Hall also completed continued training for reviewers.

 
Journal Publishes Two Articles by Barymon

Two articles by Deanna Barymon, clinical coordinator and assistant professor of diagnostic medical sonography, have been published in Journal of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. The first, "Endometrial Ablation: A Tale of Two Women," was a collaboration with Dr. Cheryl Dubose, program director and assistant professor of magnetic resonance imaging. The second offers suggestions on how sonographers can improve patient care within their practice. Both articles are online.

Miller and Dougan Lead Study for Teachers Miller and Dougan Lead Study for Teachers

Dr. Cynthia Miller, director, Delta STEM Education Center, and Dr. Michael B. Dougan, distinguished professor of history emeritus, today are leading a group of teachers on an excursion down the Mississippi River on the Corps of Engineers boat Mississippi V. Supported by a Library of Congress grant on teaching primary sources, the group is joined by members of the Mississippi River Commission and the Mekong River Commission.
