Brinkley Named to State Agriculture Hall of Fame
The Arkansas Agriculture Hall of Fame has announced six new selections, including Dr. Lew Brinkley, emeritus professor of agricultural economics. He will be inducted during a March ceremony in Little Rock. The AAHF recognizes individuals who have contributed significantly to Arkansas agriculture. During his 46-year career at A-State, he has touched hundreds of students' lives as adviser and mentor. A Talk Business article has details.

Salo Appointed to Historians' Committee
Dr. Edward Salo, assistant professor of history, was appointed to membership on the Organization of American Historians' (OAH) Committee on Public History. The committee serves as a liaison between public history organizations and institutions, and the OAH. Committee members also are responsible for developing OAH policy and programs related to public history. Salo joined the A-State faculty in 2014.

Shollenbarger is Author of Journal Article
Dr. Amy Shollenbarger, assistant professor of communication disorders and interim department chair, is first author of a manuscript published in the journal Language, Speech, and Hearing Services in the Schools. In the article, "How African American English-Speaking First Graders Segment and Rhyme Words and Nonwords with Final Consonant Clusters," she and co-authors analyzed how children differ in completion of two common phonological awareness tasks.

Mello's Research Published in 'Foresight'
Dr. John Mello, professor of supply chain management, recently published an article titled "Vendor Managed Inventory: Principles, Benefits, and Pitfalls" in the fall issue of Foresight: The International Journal of Applied Forecasting. The article provides practitioners with an overview of the basic structure of vendor-managed inventory programs, the benefits that can accrue to customer and supplier, and the pitfalls to be avoided.

Hakenewerth Concludes Term as AAFA President
David Hakenewerth, Energy Conservation Engineer in Facilities Management, has completed his term as president of the Arkansas Association of Facilities Administrators. AAFA is a non-profit organization that assists Arkansas higher education facilities administrators by providing educational training, leadership development and networking opportunities. During his year of service as president, Hakenewerth was an advocate for the organization's educational and leadership development efforts.
