McGee's Book Chapter is Published

A chapter by Dr. Anne McGee, assistant professor of Spanish, has been published in the collection Critical Approaches to Literature: Feminist released by Salem Press. Her chapter, "Failed Stories of Rewriting and Revision in Sandra Cisneros's Woman Hollering Creek and Other Stories," analyzes how stories from Cisneros's collection unsuccessfully attempts to rewrite and revise archetypes of Chicana and Mexicana femininity.

Caldwell Selected Delegate to Professional Group Caldwell Selected Delegate to Professional Group

Donna Caldwell, associate professor of medical imaging and radiation sciences, has been selected as an education chapter delegate for the American Society of Radiologic Technologists. She will travel to the annual House of Delegates meeting each year to represent educators within the profession. Edwin Wallace, adviser for the College of Nursing and Health Professions, was selected as an alternate delegate for the radiation therapy chapter.

 
Tait and Students Attend Workshop Tait and Students Attend Workshop

Dr. Gabriel Tait, assistant professor of multimedia journalism, and two photojournalism students, Madison Gomez and Ammar Taqi, participated in the 2018 Lens Collective storytelling workshop in Oxford, Miss. Lens Collective focuses on cultural preservation in the Mississippi Delta through digital storytelling. Participants highlighted how the Civil Rights Movement impacted the region. The students worked with 15 mentors, including two Pulitzer Prize winners.

 
Bohn Elected Vice Chair of Theatre Group

Lisa Bohn, associate professor of theatre, was elected vice chair of the College and University Division of the Southeastern Theatre Conference (SETC) during the group's annual convention in Mobile, Ala. She will serve a two-year term with SETC, a national organization that provides various programs, educational opportunities, publications and other professional development resources to enhance the careers of theatre practitioners and academicians.

History Professors to Give WWI Programs History Professors to Give WWI Programs

Dr. Cherisse Jones-Branch, associate professor of history, and Dr. Michael B. Dougan, distinguished professor of history emeritus, will make presentations in association with a traveling exhibit on display through April 11 at Ellis Library. “The Great War: Arkansas in World War I,” tells the story of Arkansas’s role during the war at home and on the battlefields. Program details are in a news release.
