Allen to Make Symposium Presentation
Dr. Marti Allen, director of ASU Museum, will make a presentation for the Northeast Arkansas Regional Archives symposium to be held Saturday at the Delta Center for Economic Development. In "Rockabilly! The Northeast Arkansas Story," she will discuss the museum's initiative begun in 2012 to raise public awareness of the significance of rockabilly, an energetic style of music that largely developed in Northeast Arkansas.

Smith Launches New KASU Program
Mark Smith, recently appointed station manager for public radio station KASU, announced the broadcasting service's latest programming venture will be "A-State Connections." The new hour-long broadcast at 11 a.m. each Saturday will highlight university service initiatives to connect to people across the region, the state and internationally. Johnathan Reaves, news director, will host the program, and other staff members will produce content. Details are online.

Provence Recognized by Research Hospital
Katey Provence, coordinator of student services, received the "St. Jude Higher Ed Professional of the Year" award at the Collegiate Leadership Seminar last week in Memphis. The award recognizes exemplary service by a university representative for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital's fundraising campaign. Provence is starting her fourth year as adviser to A-State's Up 'til Dawn board. Also, alumna Hannah Aldridge won the "Be Like Danny" award.

Sustich Reappointed to Science Board
Dr. Andrew Sustich, professor of physics, was appointed by Gov. Asa Hutchinson to a second term on the board of directors for the Arkansas Economic Development Commission Division of Science and Technology. He also chairs the state's Science Advisory Committee, which develops the state science and technology plan and serves as the advisory group for the state's National Science Foundation EPSCoR program.

Dougan Gives Legal Education Programs
Dr. Michael Dougan, distinguished professor of history emeritus, and alumnus Mark Allison presented a continuing legal education (CLE) program on sovereign immunity at the annual meeting of the Arkansas Bar Association. Dougan also made a presentation for the Bar Association on "Moore v. Moore and the Future of Hillbilly Divorce" as part of the association's "best of CLE" series.
