Nowlin Will Teach Geospatial Technologies
Dr. John Nowlin is joining the College of Agriculture as assistant professor of geospatial technologies. He will teach courses in geographic information systems and agriculture spatial technologies. With 10 years of industry experience in GIS, he earned a Ph.D. in geography, specializing in geographic information science. His primary research interest is environmental modeling for viticultural site suitability and terroir analysis, related to his interest in winemaking.

Riley is Assistant Director of Bands
Dr. Steven Riley is director of athletic bands and assistant director of bands in the Department of Music. Previously director of bands at College of the Holy Cross in Massachusetts, Riley earned his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in band conducting from The University of Iowa. His interests include writing halftime drills for marching bands, arranging popular music for band, and history and development of concert band music.

Kim is Assistant Professor of Criminology
Dr. Jihoon Kim is joining the Department of Criminology, Sociology and Geography as assistant professor of criminology this fall. During the past year, he has been completing his Ph.D. in criminology, law and society at the University of Florida. In his research, Kim is particularly interested in juvenile delinquency, criminological theory, quantitative research methods and cybercrime.

Martin Brings Nursing Career to A-State
Kellie Martin is assistant professor in the associate degree in nursing program, where she will be teaching maternal health. After working 30 years as a nurse, she redirected her career into education at Southeast Hospital College of Nursing in Missouri, and completed a Master of Science in Nursing from Cox College. Her family fell in love with Jonesboro during visits to A-State, where her daughter is a student.

Panageotou Joins Sociology Faculty
Dr. Steven Panageotou is assistant professor of sociology. After completing his Ph.D. in sociology at the University of Tennessee, he spent the previous year as a lecturer there. His research examines recent political events in the Western world, including the Greek financial crisis and the election of Donald Trump, through the lens of critical theory. He reads widely in and loves to talk about politics, corporations, globalization, culture and theory.
