Carter is Serving as President of State Group
Tyler Carter, assistant professor of medical imaging and radiation sciences, is serving this year as president of the Arkansas Society of Radiologic Technologists. He will become chairman at the group's annual state conference this spring. He gives leadership to the organization's advocacy and educational initiatives for imaging professionals. Carter got involved with ArSRT while he was a student, through the group's internship program.

Carey to Present Faculty Voice Recital
Matt Carey, assistant professor of music, will present a faculty recital Monday, Feb. 4, at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center Recital Hall. A baritone, he will perform the song cycle "Die Winterreise," composed by Franz Schubert in 1827. Pianist Emily Jenkins will accompany. Carey joined A-State's faculty in 1997, and is known to many as one of the announcers who introduces graduating students during Commencement.

Kary Selected for NISE Network Event
Jill Kary, curator of education, ASU Museum, was selected by the National Informal STEM Education (NISE) Network for an all-expenses paid trip to the project's partner meeting next month in Tempe, Ariz. Kary was invited because of the creativity the museum adds to the NISE Network teaching kits, such as her innovative approach to content delivery at the Museum’s scary STEM event in October. Benavides Places Sports Management Interns
Dr. Claudia Benavides, associate professor of sport management, and others in the program are assisting their sport management majors with getting first-hand experience at high-profile athletic events. Seven A-State students, the largest delegation among participating institutions, assisted with the Walk-On's Independence Bowl in Shreveport. Five students leave Wednesday for Atlanta, where they will assist the staff at Super Bowl LIII. See details online.

Jennings Selected for Nurse Recognition
Joy Jennings, assistant professor of nursing, will be recognized as one of the "Great 100 Nurses of Arkansas" at an April event in Little Rock. Honorees are selected based on their concern for humanity, contributions to the profession, and mentoring of others. Jennings, who teaches at ASU-Beebe, and the other honorees were nominated by peers, patients, supervisors, students and the public. Details are online.
