Hill Leads Students to Sales Team Success

Congratulations to Dr. Katie Hill, assistant professor of marketing, and director of the R.M. "Bob" Wood Sales Leadership Center, who accompanied a team of Neil Griffin College of Business students to the regional Challenger Sales Institute Competition in Oklahoma City. A-State students won first place in the case competition and finished second in role play. Hill was named team challenge reserve champion. Details are online.

Simpson-Farrow and Listenbee Promote Cohorts Simpson-Farrow and Listenbee Promote Cohorts

Tabatha Simpson-Farrow (left), director, Writing Center, and Kelli Listenbee (right), director, Learning Support Services, will speak online Friday to the Maryland College Learning Center Association (MDCLCA) Conference. Their topic, “Coming Together: Breaking Silos and Building Cohorts,” describes the benefits of the collaborative work that involves personnel in A-State's Learning Centers, Information Technology Services, Digital Creative Media and the Office of Assessment. Damphousse Shares Campus Activities with Board

At the Board of Trustees meeting earlier this month at ASU Three Rivers in Malvern, Chancellor Kelly Damphousse updated members of the Board regarding student, faculty and staff activities and achievements during the quarter since the board's last meeting. A video summary touched on progress at A-State Campus Queretaro, staff involvement in MLK Day, the HOWL Transition Center, students' SURF grants, and much more.

Wilkinson and Students Explore Art Spaces Wilkinson and Students Explore Art Spaces

Melissa Wilkinson, associate professor of art, directed a busload of students, faculty and staff from Art + Design on an educational excursion earlier this month to "expand horizons" and take in art hotspots in Bentonville. The group toured the grounds and exhibition collection of Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art; its newly opened contemporary art space satellite, The Momentary; and the 21C Museum Hotel downtown.

 
Walker's Historical Research Earns Coverage

Will Walker, adjunct instructor in history, made a presentation at the 75th anniversary Battle of Manila Symposium in the Philippines. His presentation, "Triumph and Tragedy: The Wartime Odyssey of Joseph R. McMicking," and his passion for Philippine history caught the attention of journalist Buddy Gomez, who was press secretary for former Philippine president Cory Aquino. Gomez blogged about Walker and his research.
