A research poster by Andrea Brown, assistant professor of occupational therapy, and six of her students was accepted for presentation at the American Occupational Therapy Association annual conference. Their study examined parents' knowledge of special education programming in the public school system, and the transition process from early intervention services. Unfortunately, the conference had to be canceled in the wake of the national pandemic.

Congratulations to Dr. Philip Tew, associate professor of finance, and Kerry Tew, first-year student support coordinator, Griffin College of Business, advisers to the Arkansas chapter of Phi Beta Lambda. The chapter's new officers are all A-State students. The Tews, along with Sheena Gammon, instructor in accounting and computer information technology, and Dr. Patricia Robertson, professor of business law and department chair, also are advisers to the award-winning A-State chapter. Dr. Chelsea Cunard, postdoc researcher, Dr. Travis Marsico, professor of botany and interim department chair, and graduate student Jennifer Reed are co-authors of an article published in PLOS One. The researchers partnered with various federal, state and private interests to evaluate the floristic composition at the Garden City Terminal of the Port of Savannah in Georgia. They conducted the study to demonstrate the collaborative relationship building between researchers and industry, and to develop a framework for biodiversity conservation.

Dr. Justin Castro, associate professor of history and department chair, has been awarded a Linda Hall Library of Science, Engineering and Technology Residential Fellowship to conduct research for "Infrastructure and Society in Latin America," a book project for which he is under contract with Johns Hopkins University Press. The fellowship helps cover costs to live in Kansas City and work in the library for a month.

The Office of Marketing and Communications won three awards, including a gold and two bronze, in the annual competition conducted by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) five-state District IV. The entries were produced by the Publications and Creative Services (PCS) team, which includes Mark Reeves, director, Heath Kelly, assistant director, Mary Melton, associate director, and Calli Perkins, graphic designer.
