Work by Cara Sullivan, instructor of art, is in a curated, group exhibition titled "Refugia," underway in Brooklyn, N.Y. The work in Refugia explores the intersection of landscape with culture, geographical differences, personal identities, politics and histories. She also has a solo exhibition titled "Rise" underway at Focus Gallery in the Windgate Center of Art and Design at UA-Little Rock. The exhibition continues into January.

A former student of Dr. George Harp, emeritus professor of environmental biology, has established a scholarship endowment in recognition of Harp's positive influence. Dr. Sam Kallsnick of Lee's Summit, Mo., made the gift to establish the Dr. George Harp Honorary Scholarship for a pre-professional student in the College of Sciences and Mathematics, preferably pre-dentistry. Harp was a faculty member at A-State from 1967 until his retirement in 1999. Details are online.

A research article by Dr. Wayne Wilkinson, associate professor of psychology, along with three co-authors who are A-State psychology alumni, was published in the Journal of Homosexuality. The alumni are Stephen Berry (MS in psychological science), and Lauren DuBar and Zacharey Garner (BS in psychology). The article, titled “Throwing Shade at Cyrus: Willingness to Censor Teen Homosexuality in Disney’s Andi Mack,” is available online.

Prior to joining A-State's faculty in August, Dr. Jerica J. J. Rich, assistant professor of animal science, was finishing her Ph.D. in animal science at South Dakota State University.  Her thesis and dissertation research focused on the relationship of systemic and ovarian GnRH on reproductive parameters in beef cattle. Her research interests include improving the cow-calf herd by incorporating technologies  that improve reproductive efficiency.

Another new faculty member this year is Jody Nutt, assistant professor in medical imaging and radiation sciences. She teaches radiologic sciences courses and serves as radiation therapy clinical coordinator. Nutt completed her undergraduate degree at A-State, then went on to complete her master's degree program at Louisiana State University. Before returning to Jonesboro, she was working as lead radiation therapist at Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport.
