Hill Recognized with Living Legend Award
Congratulations to Victor Hill, one of those recognized Saturday during the Living Legends Award Celebration, a Black History Month event. Hill retired from A-State as a financial aid counselor with 34 years of service in 2018. The university recognized him during the Centennial Celebration in 2010 as one of 100 staff members who had made significant contributions to the university. He also is an Army veteran.

Wright is Living Legend Award Winner
Congratulations to Peggy Wright, instructor in political science, who was among the five honorees recognized Saturday during the Living Legends Award Celebration, a Black History Month event. Among her many achievements, Wright is a graduate of the Harvard Kennedy School executive education program, and is known for her activism to make affordable housing more accessible to many. Wright has been a faculty member since 1998.

Lyle Awarded for Her Work in Jonesboro
Robbie Lyle, who now lives in Bellevue, Neb., was a recipient of the Living Legend Award during the Black History Month event Saturday. Lyle served as director of TRIO Programs before her retirement in 1992, and she also was assistant dean of University College. She established the African American Cultural Center in Jonesboro, and produced a documentary on education for African Americans in Craighead County.

Salvest’s Work in Memphis Exhibition
Work by John Salvest, professor of art, is featured in an exhibition at the David Lusk Gallery in Memphis. In “Alphabetanica,” Salvest presents a collection of images of trees that he created using rubber stamps carved into the shape of a leaf from each specific tree. A live Instagram tour of the exhibition will be featured at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, with an open house 11-3 Saturday, March 13. Details are online.

Kays Board Supports Drake’s Proposal
The Kays Foundation has approved additional funds for a grant proposal from Dr. Shawn Drake, professor of physical therapy, department chair, and assistant dean. The grant, for $2,730, will help support the purchase of a Hillrom Avanta P1600 hospital bed that will be utilized in her ongoing research project, which is titled “Interprofessional Acute Care Simulation Lab.” The foundation earlier approved more than $50,000 for the project.
