Pan Studies Sports Fans’ Brand Perceptions
Dr. Po-Lin Pan, professor of strategic communication, is lead author of an article published in Sport, Business, and Management: An International Journal. The article consists of two studies examining the interplay between sports fanship and brand-related perceptions. Using an identity approach to sports sponsorship, the article offers theoretical and practical insights into fan-team relationships impact on fans' perceptions of sponsor brands for the advancement of sports business research.

Hance Named Honors Professor of Year
Congratulations to Dr. Margaret Hance, assistant professor of psychology, for being named Honors Professor of the Year 2021. Honors students in her introduction to psychology class recognized her excellent work as both a teacher and a mentor, and they noted in their nomination her ability to keep the class engaged despite the limitations of a virtual format. Students in the Honors College nominate and vote on the annual recognition.

Dolan and Harris Working with NASA Students
Congratulations to Dr. Maureen Dolan (left), associate professor of molecular biology, and Shea Harris (right), Arkansas Biosciences Institute outreach director, who are working with a team of A-State students preparing an experiment to be conducted on the International Space Station. NASA published an article recently about the five university teams selected in a competitive process to prepare experiments through the Student Payload Opportunity with Citizen Science (SPOCS) program.

Lewis-Kipkulei, Green and Moore Publish in Higher Ed Journal
A research study by three faculty members of the College of Nursing and Health Professions has been published in the twin pandemics special issue of the Journal of Higher Education Management. The study, “Healthcare Students Perceptions of Hybrid Learning in the Midst of Twin Pandemics” is by Dr. Pamela Lewis-Kipkulei, assistant professor of occupational therapy, Dr. LaToya Green, assistant professor of physical therapy, and Dr. Carlitta M. Moore, assistant professor of athletic training. The article is available online.

Johnson is Panelist for Job Search Webinar
Tiffany Johnson, director of Career Services, was a panelist for a webinar conducted earlier this month by the Southern Association for College Student Affairs (SACSA), a professional development association. The panel discussed “Continuing Your Job Search,” with the focus on graduate students who are starting and professionals in the field who are continuing job searches, and their experiences in a pandemic-slowed but recovering job market.
