Four Faculty Members Promoted to Professor
Congratulations to four A-State faculty members who were promoted to professor following recommendations from the administration and confirmation by the Board of Trustees during its meeting Thursday. The individuals promoted to professor, along with their academic disciplines, are Dr. Jeongho Ahn, mathematics; Dr. Hashim Ali, chemistry; Dr. Elizabeth (Libby) Nix, nursing; and Dr. Guolei Zhou, biological sciences. Academic promotions take effect July 1.

Seven Faculty Members are Promoted to Associate Professor
Congratulations to the seven faculty members who have been approved for promotion to associate professor, as confirmed Thursday by the Board of Trustees. Those promoted and their academic disciplines are Dr. Jessica Curtis, psychology; Dr. Katerina Hill, marketing; Dr. Donghoon Kim, computer science; Jeff McLaughlin, theatre; Dr. Veronika Pribyslavska, exercise science; Dr. Eric Scudamore, exercise science; and Dr. Marcus Tribbett, English.

Six Members of A-State Faculty Achieve Tenure
Congratulations to each of the six faculty members will begin the next academic year with tenure, as determined through the PRT process and approved Thursday by the Board of Trustees. Newly tenured faculty are Dr. Scott Bruce, athletic training; Dr. Jessica Curtis, psychology; Dr. Katerina Hill, marketing; Dr. Donghoon Kim, computer science; Jeff McLaughlin, theatre; and Dr. Marcus Tribbett, English.

Hall Concludes Teaching Career at A-State
Best wishes to Cathy Hall, associate professor of nursing, who is retiring this year. She earned a master's degree in nursing, medical surgical emphasis, at the University of Cincinnati before joining the faculty in 1991. Certified in oncology nursing since 1987, Hall's teaching specialties also include LPN to associate degree education, and health assessment. She often volunteers with the American Lung Association and American Cancer Society.

Jenness Wraps up 30 Years of Faculty Service
Dr. Jeff Jenness, associate professor of computer science, is among those who are retiring this academic year. Jenness, who earned his Ph.D. at the Missouri University of Science and Technology, came to A-State in 1991. His research interests include programming languages, parsing, algorithms and optimization. He is one of 24 retiring faculty members who were recognized during Faculty Honors Convocation.
