Santa’s Wolves Bring Holiday Joy to Many
Santa’s Wolves, a committee of Staff Senate, has an annual mission of assisting fellow A-State employees who are less fortunate. They are providing grocery gift cards to 18 families this year, along with gift cards for the children. Led by Sheryl Puckett, chair, committee members are Brenda Goodwin, Carol Scallions, Clint Halcom, David Atherton, Deanna Barton, Deanna Harris, Jerry Webb, Mia Sheppard-Taylor, Pamela Graham, Robyn Klerk and Sandra Bramblett.

Wimpy Analyzes African Political Developments
An article by Dr. Cameron Wimpy, assistant professor of political science, was published in the Korean Journal of Policy Studies. Wimpy takes recently proposed theories of political failure impact on bureaucratic performance and applies them to developing countries in Africa. The findings are of interest both for improving governance in developing countries and adding to the body of literature examining challenges posed by political failure in various contexts.

McBride Appointed to Hospital's Executive Board
Dr. Jackie McBride, professor of education, has been appointed to the Executive Board of the Board of Trustees for the Baptist Memorial Health Care Corp. (BMHCC) based in Memphis. BMHCC serves a network of 21 affiliate hospitals in Arkansas, Tennessee and Mississippi, including NEA Baptist in Jonesboro. A member of the BMHCC Board of Trustees since 2016, McBride also serves on the NEA Baptist Hospital Community Advisory Board.

Papers by Hossain and Sokolov are Published
Dr. Niamat Hossain (left) and Dr. Alexandr Sokolov (right), assistant professors of engineering management, are co-authors of four double-peer-reviewed papers accepted for publication by the North American International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management, organized by the IEOM Society, in Mexico. Their research topics included resource allocation models for ventilators, finance structuring for engineering firms, quality as it affects customer satisfaction, and methods for forecasting and analyzing industrial scrap data.

Desai Makes Accounting Conference Presentation
Dr. Hrishikesh (Hrish) Desai, assistant professor of accounting, made a presentation virtually to the International Conference of The Japanese Accounting Review. With research drawn from several disciplines, Desai was particularly interested in analyzing how partners are selected in inter-organizational relationships, and how they mitigate concerns about control problems that arise in these relationships. The article also highlights shortcomings with partnerships, and generates ideas for future researchers.
