Jeong Serves on Solar Energy Review Panel
Dr. Kwangkook (David) Jeong, professor of mechanical engineering, was invited to serve on the Peer Review Panel for the U.S. Department of Energy Solar Energy Technologies Office (DOE SETO) research and development projects. As one of 60 peer reviewers, he was assigned to evaluate 10 DoE solar R&D projects. The invitation came from the Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU) Government Services, under the Department of Energy.

Finney is Concluding Career in Higher Education
Terry Finney, director, Financial Aid and Scholarships, is concluding his 42-year career in higher education, the last 13 at A-State. Active in professional groups at the regional and national level, he also served as president of the Arkansas Association of Financial Aid Administrators. Among his many achievements, Finney developed more streamlined processes for financial aid applicants and helped develop scholarship programs to boost enrollment. His retirement reception is Feb. 21.

Tetteh is Co-Author of Published Research
An article by Dr. Dinah Tetteh (left), assistant professor of communication studies, and graduate student Najma Akhther has been published in the peer-reviewed journal Qualitative Research in Medicine and Healthcare. Using interview data from ovarian cancer patients and survivors to examine interpersonal communication about ovarian cancer, they found communication is layered with degrees of openness and avoidance, relative to audience and changing illness trajectory. Hannah Elected to Hunger Relief Board
Dr. Russ Hannah, chief financial officer, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance. The alliance works with local, state and federal organizations to keep food on the tables of Arkansans who need it most and helps shape policy decisions that impact hunger. Board members come from food banks, business, policymaking groups, public institutions and direct providers. Details are online.

Segall Edits Computational Intelligence Book
Dr. Richard Segall, professor of information systems and business analytics, is lead editor of a new book, Biomedical and Business Applications Using Artificial Neural Networks and Machine Learning, published by IGI Global. Segall also is author of two chapters, “Overview of Multi-Factor Prediction Using Deep Neural Networks, Machine Learning, and Their Open-Source Software,” and “Survey of Applications of Neural Networks and Machine Learning to COVID-19 Predictions.”
