Kays Foundation Funds Wright’s Proposal
A proposal from Dr. Christine Wright, associate professor of occupational therapy and department chair, has been approved by the Kays Foundation. The grant for $50,000 will go toward acquisition of an Anatomage Table Convertible, with remaining project costs covered by the College of Nursing and Health Professions. The table will help improve long-term NHP students' learning of how anatomy, physiology and neuroanatomy principles apply to occupational and human performance.

Crist Selected for Arts in Education Roster
Dr. Timothy Crist, professor of music, was selected for the Arts in Education Roster of the Arkansas Arts Council, an online listing of professionals who are available to present arts in education programs. He plans to offer activities that bolster music programs by introducing computer technologies and modular synthesis techniques. Crist has served as a teaching artist in area schools for more than 20 years, offering guitar and composition lessons to children, community members and veterans.

Paolini is Panelist on School Violence Causes
Dr. Allison Paolini, assistant professor of school counseling and program coordinator, was a panelist for a webinar hosted by the Broward County, Fla., Crime Commission on preemption and prevention-based strategies for stopping active shooter situations. Paolini discussed causes, the role of mental health, and best practices for mitigating school violence. Much of her research focuses on the critical role that school counselors play in reducing violence.

Hossain Publishes Proceeding and Article
Dr. Niamat Hossain (right), assistant professor of engineering management, and Dr. Alexandr Sokolov, assistant professor of engineering management, co-authored a paper for the American Society of Engineering Education annual conference. They assessed undergraduate students' systems engineering management skills, based on a newly designed measurement instrument. Hossain also authored an article, in Expert Systems With Applications, regarding assessment of unmanned aerial vehicle performance with logistics and transportation.

Medina-Bolivar Gives Lectures in Puerto Rico
Dr. Fabricio Medina-Bolivar, professor of plant metabolic engineering, gave lectures and led laboratory activities on plant metabolomics to K-14 teachers at the USDA-sponsored workshop on agricultural biotechnology hosted by the Inter American University of Puerto Rico, Barranquitas campus. Medina-Bolivar was also an invited speaker at the annual Conference of the American Council for Medicinal Plants (ACMAP), hosted by the same institution. Three of his students also presented.
