28 Retiring Staff Members to be Recognized
A total of 28 individuals who have retired or will do so before the end of the 2022-23 year will be recognized Wednesday during the annual Distinguished Performance Awards and Service Recognition Ceremony. Janice Woodruff (left), Payroll Services, has the longest period of employment, 39 years. Other retirees and years of service are Philip Jackson, 38; Bettye McKinney, 35; Laura Cremeens, 33; Ivan Lawson, 30; Helen McCoy, 27; Annette Clements, 26; Leamond Nichols, 26; Dena Bolar, 25; Esther Boyd, 24; Karen Rinehart, 24; Mary Lou Ray, 22; Bill Hall, 21; Karen Trout, 20; Sonja Bottorff, 19; Dianna Long, 19; Deanna Barton, 18; Phyllis McWhorter, 17; Traci Simpson, 17; Clarisa Ratliff, 15; Joseph Thornton, 15; Lisa Kihlstadius, 14; Teresa Dunton, 13; Pamela Graham, 13; Carol Cummings, 12; Jerry Webb, 11; Yvonne Foster, 10; and Sandra Wyatt, 10.

Hall, Harris, McMillin & Williamson Attain 30 Years
Congratulations to four veteran A-State staff members who have achieved 30 years of employment service at A-State. They will be recognized Wednesday during the Distinguished Performance and Service Recognition Ceremony. The four are Leigh Anne Hall, Information and Technology Services; Deanna Harris, Nursing and Health Professions; Donna McMillin, Finance and Administration; and Joe Williamson, Information and Technology Services.

Those with 20 Years of Service at A-State to Receive Certificates
Several individuals who have completed 20 years of service at A-State will be among those recognized Wednesday during the annual Distinguished Performance and Service Recognition Ceremony in the Student Union. They are Kaye Childs, Tia Farmer, Michael Gonzales, Kathy Hicks, Dr. Cherisse Jones-Branch, Milton Poole, Bethany Silverthorn, and Dr. Lonnie Williams.

Holman Commended for 30 Years of Service
Dr. David Holman, who retired as associate professor of education, was recognized during Faculty Honors Convocation for his 30 years of service and contributions to A-State. With bachelor’s and master’s degrees from North Dakota State and his Ph.D. from Nebraska, Holman joined the College of Education and Behavioral Science in 1992. His service at A-State was evidenced by extensive committee service and mentorship for countless students.

Kennon’s Work in Science Fills 22-Year Career
Dr. Tillman Kennon, professor of science education, was among the retirees recognized at Faculty Honors Convocation. Kennon earned two bachelor’s and a master’s degree at A-State before joining the faculty; he finished his doctorate at Memphis. Kennon was instrumental in several grant-funded projects, including one that placed graduate students in regional middle schools to teach through active learning activities. He also directed the NEA Regional Science Fair for 18 years.
