Tetteh to Serve on Journal Editorial Board
Dr. Dinah Tetteh, associate professor of communication studies and James and Wanda Lee Vaughn Endowed Professor, has been invited to serve on the editorial board for Communication Studies, the Central States Communication Association journal. During her three-year term, she will review manuscripts and give feedback to authors. She also will support the editor’s vision to make the journal a place for scholars to grow professionally.

Gustafson Researches Parasite Abnormalities
Dr. Kyle Gustafson, assistant professor of parasitology, is co-author of an article, “Observations on Turtle Acanthocephalan Abnormalities,” published in Comparative Parasitology. This research is the first to document multiple discoveries of hyperparasitism (parasites parasitizing parasites) as well as other unusual patterns. Gustafson’s work has important medical and veterinary implications for understanding ecological resource partitioning and antagonistic interactions among evolutionarily-distant species that co-infect a single host.

Graiser Performs Solo and Presents Research
Dr. Brian Graiser, instructor in percussion, was invited to perform and teach at the Hartt School of Music in Hartford, Conn., as a part of a two-day festival celebrating the 75th birthday of American avant-garde composer Stuart Saunders Smith. Graiser is one of several soloists who traveled internationally to participate in a premiere of Smith’s new collection for solo vibraphone. He also gave a masterclass and research presentation.

Leslies Publish Research with Querétaro Faculty
Dr. Natalie Johnson-Leslie (left), professor of secondary teacher education, and Dr. H. Steve Leslie (right), assistant professor of business communication, collaborated with Dr. Saul Alfonso Esparza Rodriguez and Dr. Cesar Iriarte Rivas, A-State Querétaro, to conduct bibliometric research published in Journal of Scientometric Research. The authors suggest policymakers should consider the resulting outcome of the paper to make meaningful changes to reduce the income-gender gap.

Pait to Serve as Reviewer for Publisher
Arianne Pait, assistant professor of communication disorders and director of clinical services for the A-State Speech and Hearing Center, has been invited to serve as expert reviewer for Plural Publishing. In this role, Pait will serve as a content expert on the topics of mixed reality, telepractice, and artificial intelligence as it relates to communication sciences and disorders.
