Webb Secures Kays Foundation Equipment Grant
Dr. Sarah Webb, assistant research professor in ecotoxicology, has written a successful grant proposal to the Kays Foundation. The grant, for $23,774, will support equipment upgrades for the campus Ecotoxicology Research Facility. Also, her research into cyanobacteria remediation solutions and their impact on zooplankton species is one of six projects that has received seed funding from the Arkansas Water Resources Center.

Sanders Earns Advanced OT Certification
Todd Sanders, assistant professor of occupational therapy, recently passed the certification exam to become board certified in physical rehabilitation (BCPR) through the American Occupational Therapy Association. He is now one of only two occupational therapists in Arkansas with this achievement. The certification demonstrates advanced knowledge and skills in multiple areas of physical rehabilitation, including brain injuries, neurodegenerative diseases, orthopedic conditions, cognitive impairments, and low vision.

Simoes Is Guest Artist University in Brazil
Dr. Nairam Simoes, assistant professor of trumpet, served as the guest artist for Trumpet Day at the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE) in his native Brazil. Simoes, who was featured in a recital that opened the event, showcased unaccompanied pieces, duets and solos alongside pianist Dr. Rachel Casado. He also provided coaching for the UFPE trumpet ensemble and conducted masterclass sessions for students, community members and other guests.

Ríos-Vera Guides Local Chemistry Students
Dr. Rafael Ríos-Vera, professor of science and mathematics, Campus Querétaro, prepared and mentored a team of local high school students who won a gold, a silver and two bronze medals during the national stage of the annual Chemistry Olympiad competition in Mexico. Their achievements secured a spot for them on the national team that travelled to the International Chemistry Olympiad recently in Saudi Arabia.

Listenbee is July PROPS Award Recipient
Congratulations to Kelli Listenbee, director of Learning Support Services and coordinator of the First-Year Experience Program, who has been selected by a Staff Senate committee as the July PROPS (Proudly Recognizing Our Pack Staff) award recipient. More information about Listenbee’s work at A-State and why she won the recognition is online. PROPS winners are selected from a pool of candidates created from nomination forms.
