Please provide ALL of the following for an Out-of-State application for Administrator:
This certifies completion of an approved preparation program for administrator licensure in a state other than your own. Place all documents in one packet and mail to Dr. Bowser at the address below.
- Out-of-State Application Form (Institution Verification/Recommendation Form) for the state from which you are seeking licensure. Please contact your state department of education for this information.
- Please provide your contact/demographic information and include in your packet separate from the mailing envelope.
- Official A-State transcript providing confirmation of graduate degree or Professional Certificate
- Must have graduation date listed on transcript. You may go online and request an official transcript be sent to you and you will enclose it in your packet of information that you will mail to the licensure officer. (You may provide your A-State ID number in lieu of an official transcript to expedite the process.)
- Letter from administrator verifying you have at least 3 years as a licensed classroom teacher, school counselor, or library media specialist. You may include an Experience Verification form in lieu of letter.
- If you are adding district level administrator (superintendent), a letter verifying a minimum of one year of building level or curriculum/program administrator experience.
- A copy of your Praxis II School Leaders Licensure Assessment (SLLA) score report for building level (principal) or curriculum. For district level administrator (superintendent), a copy of your Praxis II School Superintendent Assessment (SSA) score report.
- A copy of current teaching license.
- All incomplete packets (this includes BLANK application forms) will be returned to the applicant. It is required that you complete the demographic or any applicant information required on your state's form before mailing.
- When mailing your complete packet, please include a note with your A-State ID number, email address, mailing address, and phone number.
- Due to the sensitive nature of the information on documents in the packet, we CANNOT accept the licensure packet electronically.
- Please do not staple any documents
- Upon receipt of a completed application packet, the Arkansas State University Office of Professional Education Programs will review it for confirmation of recommendation. This review process could take from 2-8 weeks, depending on the licensure workload at the time of submission. An email will be sent to the applicant after the application packet has been processed.
