Tuition through graduation as funds are available when endowment is fully funded unless otherwise requested by donors.
Qualifications for Receiving Scholarship
- Recipient shall be from underprivileged background and demonstrate ability to successfully complete a college education majoring in the areas of biological sciences; chemistry; computer science; mathematics and physics; nursing and health professions.
- Recipient must also be a full-time student, who has completed the freshman year with at least a 3.0 overall grade point average.
Qualifications for Maintaining Scholarship
Full-time student majoring in one of the designated areas with at least a 3.0 overall grade point average. Current recipient is eligible but must reapply.

Qualifications for Receiving Scholarship
- First Choice – Female students majoring in Physical Science.
- Second Choice – Female students majoring in mathematics, computer science, or engineering.
- Third Choice – Female students majoring in any other STEM discipline.
- The recipients should be frrom the Mississippi Delta Region (currently defined by the Delta Regional Authority).
- Returning students should have a 3.0 overall GPA.
- Incoming freshman should have an ACT score of 24.
- Final decisions on awardees will be based upon an essay that describes how the student will help the Delta Region post-graduation.

Amount and Term of Award
The scholarship is intended to cover the cost of student’s books each semester and that portion of tuition not covered by existing scholarships or other non-loan forms of financial assistance. As the amount of the scholarship endowment grows over time, consideration should also be given to cover costs associated with room and board.
Qualifications for Receiving Scholarship
- Award shall be given to one or more African-American males from Crittenden County, with the first choice being a student from West Memphis High School. The number of awards shall be determined by the amount of funds produced by the endowment.
- First Choice - Student must major in biological science, chemistry, computer science or pre-med fields with a desire to be a physician or a math teacher.
- Second Choice – Allied Health Profession and Nursing. Except Lab, Imaging, Social Work and Disaster Preparedness.
- The student must possess the characteristics of a leader. This can be assessed by having the student write a brief essay in addition to providing letters of support from teachers, counselors, church members, etc..
- The student must have at least a combined ACT score of 19 and high school GPA of 2.5.
Qualifications for Maintaining Scholarship
- Student must maintain a current and cumulative GPA of 3.0 during each semester in order to receive funding for the following semester.
- Student must successfully complete 12 hours each semester, thereby demonstrating satisfactory academic progress towards completing their degree.
- Student must demonstrate quality character while receiving this scholarship and should remain in good standing, academically and socially, at Arkansas State University throughout their academic career.

The amount of award shall be based on the earnings of the endowment.
Qualifications for Receiving Scholarship
- Non-traditional sophomore or junior students majoring in Biology, Wildlife Ecology and Management, or General Science: Biology Emphasis. A non-traditional student is one who did not enter college directly from high school, or has returned to college after a break of more than two years./li>
- Students pursuing a BS degree in Biology with pre-professional emphasis are not eligible for this award.
- Eligible students must have a minimum of 16 credits in biology and a GPA of 3.0 or greater in their major.
Qualifications for Maintaining Scholarship
May reapply for a maximum of four semesters for juniors, two semesters for seniors.

$1,200 per year payable at $600 per semester, provided funds are available through interest income. Renewable for three additional years.
Qualifications for Receiving Scholarship
- Incoming freshman, preference to pre-med major (if no qualified applicants, may be awarded to a student in a related area such as pre-pharmacy, nursing, health professions, etc.).
- ACT of 32 recommended (minimum of 25).
- Upper 5% of high school class or National Merit semi-finalist.
- Arkansas resident with preference to the Jonesboro area.
- Need may be given consideration, provided minimum criteria are met.
