Description

The Bachelor of Music degree offers training in the following concentrations: Composition, Performance (Instrumental, Voice, and Keyboard), Jazz Studies, and Music Industry. This degree provides students with focused training in their chosen field while building a strong foundation in music theory, history, and technology. Through individualized instruction, ensemble participation, and hands-on experiences, students develop technical expertise, creative expression, top-tier performance ability, and professional skills.

The curriculum within the A-State Department of Music is diverse and flexible within these concentrations, allowing students to tailor their studies to suit their individual interests and career goals. Graduates are well-prepared for careers in music creation, performance, and production or for further academic study at the graduate level. The Department of Music at Arkansas State University is an accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Music.

Required Courses

Students must meet requirements set by the College of Liberal Arts and Communication for entry into the Music Program.

Admission to the University is required. A strong background in music ensembles and private study is recommended.
