13th annual 'Celebration of Quilting' set for May 19 at Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center
The Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center, 1021 West Cherry Street, Piggott, will host the 13th annual “Celebration of Quilting” on Saturday, May 19, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Quilts will be displayed in the Pfeiffer-Janes House and the Hemingway Barn-Studio. Admission to the show is $3 per adult.
Visitors’ Choice ribbons will be awarded in multiple categories with divisions for hand-quilted and machine-quilted items. Anyone may enter quilts and quilt-based creations with no entry fees. Quilts may be brought to the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center(HPMEC), Wednesday, May 16, and Thursday, May 17, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. For additional information or to pre-register a quilted article, contact Johnna Redman at (870) 598-3487.
In addition to “Celebration of Quilting,” the “14th Annual Piggott Heritage Park Car Show” will be in progress at Heritage Park, two miles west of HPMEC. Regular museum hours are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., and Saturday, 1-3 p.m., with tours on the hour. HPMEC is an Arkansas State University Heritage Site.
