A-State Graduate School Seeking New Dean
JONESBORO – Arkansas State University is seeking highly qualified candidates to become dean of the Graduate School. This pivotal position will report to the executive vice chancellor and provost and act as the chief adviser and liaison to advance graduate education.
The Graduate School dean will also lead the provost’s initiative to grow the graduate degree programs at A-State.
The role will include a variety of responsibilities including assisting with curriculum development, increasing enrollment into the Graduate School, strengthening relationships between the Graduate School and other stakeholders on campus, and various other duties.
The new dean will strive to continue support for the research-intensive status consistent with the university’s classification of Carnegie R2, an indicator of the university’s high research activity.
Candidates will have accomplished at minimum the rank of advanced associate professor with tenure and be from a Carnegie classified research institution, and must have at least five years of executive administration experience.
