A-State Media Services to Host Debates
JONESBORO – ASU-TV, KASU-FM, KLEK-FM, the A-State Herald, and Red Wolf Radio (RWR) will present the 2024 Political Debates, beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, and continuing the following Thursdays, on Oct.10 and Oct. 17.
The Oct. 3 debate will host the U.S. House District 1 candidates: Democratic candidate Rodney Govens and Libertarian candidate Dr. Steven Parsons.
The Oct. 10 debate will feature candidates for Arkansas Senate District 20, incumbent and Republican candidate Dan Sullivan and Democratic candidate Erika Askeland.
The Jonesboro mayoral candidate debate will occur on Oct. 17 and welcome incumbent Harold Copenhaver Jr. and candidates L.J. Bryant, Thomas Elwood and Jeremy Terrell.
Panelists will vary by debate and include Brandon Tabor, KASU news director; Rebecca Robinson, KASU news reporter; LaGanzie Kale, KLEK general manager; Jerry Don Burton, A-State Herald editor-in-chief; and George Jared, Talk Business and Politics reporter.
The debates will be livestreamed on the Facebook pages of KASU, ASU-TV, KLEK, and RWR, as well as the YouTube pages of ASU-TV and RWR.
Viewers can watch the debates on ASU-TV from Optimum Channel 18 in the Jonesboro city limits and A-State campus broadcast on Apogee Channel 4.1.
