A-State Online MBA Program Ranks In Top 15 Nationally
JONESBORO — Arkansas State University’s master of business administration online program moved up in the Top 15 rankings by U.S. News & World Report, the publication released Wednesday. A-State jumped to No. 12 from the 2014 ranking of No. 14.
“This is a tremendous accomplishment and a great testament to the work of Dr. Bill Roe, Dr. Russ Jones and the graduate programs committee and all who have helped to provide the highest quality education possible to our graduate business students,” said Dr. Shane Hunt, dean of the College of Business.
Roe is the associate dean of the College of Business and the director of Graduate Business Programs, while Jones is professor of Computer and Information Technology and chair of the graduate programs committee.
U.S. News and World Report’s rankings include the best online master’s degree programs in business administration, based on factors such as admissions selectivity, reputation for excellence among peer institutions and academic and career support services offered to students.
Arkansas State is once again the only school from Arkansas to rank in the top 100 nationally for the Online MBA program.
A-State is ranked tops nationally in faculty credentials and training along with fifth-place rank in student engagement.
In the publication’s MBA program overview, the editors of U.S. News & World Report comment that applications to A-State’s program are “rolling.” They note that, “Ninety-eight percent of students are already employed when they first enroll. For these programs, all of the online classes are recorded and archived.”
The overview goes on to say, “Students should also note that the online MBA programs at Arkansas State University-Jonesboro are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, the gold standard of business school accreditation.”
In addition, the rankings also point out that, among distinguishing characteristics of the online program, courses are taught by academically qualified faculty. When a course is in rotation for the online MBA, the same faculty member who teaches the online course is also teaching the same course in face-to-face format at the same time. This assures consistency of content by running the online and traditional MBA parallel. All faculty teaching online are trained in online teaching.
In comparison, the Arkansas State online MBA ranks above universities including Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Arizona, Oklahoma State, Florida State and Memphis.
