A-State Operating under Remote Work Plan Due to Inclement Weather

02/10/2021

JONESBORO – The Arkansas State University campus and Jonesboro area are under an ice storm warning from the National Weather Service in Memphis Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 10-11. As a result, A-State will operate under its remote working plan due to inclement winter weather for Wednesday, Feb. 10.

All essential personnel for on-campus operations will report as usual, and the campus is not closed. All on-campus classes will shift to remote delivery course delivery on Wednesday. Instructors are asked to reach out to their students as soon as practical to let them know how the learning material will be delivered.

Non-essential staff members will work remotely on Wednesday.

All Wednesday on-campus student non-classroom activities are postponed. The Arkansas State vs. UALR basketball games, which had been scheduled for Wednesday at FNB Arena, have been re-scheduled to Friday, with the women’s game tipoff at 5 p.m. and the men to follow at 7:30 p.m.

On-campus support areas, including Student Housing, Campus Dining, and the Dean B. Ellis Library will continue operations under their essential personnel policies. All campus dining will operate on its standard brunch hours schedule. The Red W.O.L.F. Center will be closed.

Virtual events that were scheduled for Wednesday, including the A-State Agribusiness Conference and the A-State Alumni Association’s Lunch and Learn Series, will continue as scheduled.

A determination on the remote learning/working plan for Thursday, Feb. 11, will be made Wednesday afternoon.
