A-State’s KASU Jazz Thursday to Feature Hairy Larry and George Sept. 26
JONESBORO, Ark. — Local musicians Hairy Larry and George will jazz up their act at the next Arkansas State University KASU Jazz Thursday concert, Sept. 26 at 6:30 p.m. The concert will be presented at The Arts@311, 311 South Church Street, Suite E in downtown Jonesboro.
Larry Heyl and George Hinds have recorded and performed together as Hairy Larry and George for several years. Hinds is an outstanding bassist and lyricist, and Heyl is known to music lovers throughout the region as a songwriter, performer and blues promoter. Heyl is also the producer and host of “Something Blue,” a weekly blues program on KASU that airs at 10 p.m. each Saturday.
Hairy Larry and George are versatile musicians who love all kinds of music, and they often collaborate with other outstanding musicians to share that love wherever they play. They will bring their love of jazz, influenced by blues, soul, and rock-and-roll, to the concert.
KASU-FM 91.9 presents the Jazz Thursday concerts on the fourth Thursday night of each month, at The Arts@311. The concerts are sponsored by Infectious Disease and Control Consultants, The Arts@311, and Gregg-Langford-Bookout Funeral Home. There is no admission charge, but KASU passes a hat for the performers during the concert.
