A-State SBTDC Announces Staff Changes
JONESBORO, Ark. — Familiar faces are taking on new roles at the Arkansas State University Small Business and Technology Development Center.
Laura Miller, a former SBTDC lead business consultant, is the new director following the retirement of Herb Lawrence after 17 years. Miller has been with the center for 13 years and also served as training coordinator. Miller received her undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri and has a master of business administration degree from Pittsburg State University. She became a certified business advisor through the University of Toledo in 2008.
Miller was honored by the national Association of Small Business Development Centers as the 2008 State Star for being an exemplary performer and making a significant contribution to the Arkansas SBTDC program.
Robert Bahn has been promoted to lead business consultant. He joined the ASU SBTDC in November 2009 and became a certified business advisor through the University of Toledo in 2012. Bahn is a graduate of A-State and worked in banking for more than 30 years before joining the center.
“Laura Miller understands the challenges small businesses face, having assisted many business owners with starting, managing and growing their businesses,” said Janet Roderick, ASBTDC state director. “The Arkansas State University SBTDC has an excellent track record of helping small businesses. Under Laura’s leadership, I am confident the center will continue to serve area entrepreneurs well.”
