A-State SBTDC, Batesville Chamber of Commerce workshop will help local businesses build “Website In A Day”
JONESBORO, Ark. — The Arkansas State University Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC) and the Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce will offer a special workshop, “Website in Day” in Batesville for local small business owners and their employees, Wednesday, Oct. 9. The workshop will be held at the Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce, 409 Vine Street in Batesville, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
“Website in a Day” will teach business owners how to build effective, easy-to-maintain websites with free online tools. The hands-on training will guide participants step-by-step through creating an attractive, functional, five-page website using A-State SBTDC-provided laptops.

Registration fee is $50 per person, $40 for Batesville Chamber of Commerce or Main Street Batesville members, and $35 for University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville faculty, staff and students.
“To compete in their local markets as well as in the global economy, Arkansas businesses need to embrace the Internet,” said Herb Lawrence, director of SBTDC. “We are delighted to work with the Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce to strengthen small businesses by sharing tools, skills and knowledge that can be used to reach more customers online and increase sales.”
The event is co-sponsored by the Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce, Main Street Batesville, Citizens Bank, First Community Bank, First National Banking Company, Liberty Bank of Arkansas and Merchant & Planters Bank.
The Arkansas State Small Business and Technology Development Center is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration through a partnership with the University of Arkansas at Little Rock College of Business and other institutions of higher education.
