A-State SBTDC to Host Deaf-Friendly Seminar

JONESBORO — The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center (ASBTDC) at Arkansas State University will host “How to Be a Deaf-Friendly Business,” seminar, Tuesday, April 12, from 9-11 a.m. at the Delta Center for Economic Development, 319 University Loop Circle, on the A-State campus. Admission is $35.

The seminar is designed to teach businesses how to be deaf-friendly. Attendees will receive an introduction to deaf culture, learn basic American Sign Language (ASL) and how to appear on the review website used by deaf and hard-of-hearing consumers.

In addition, those attending the seminar will receive information about workplace accommodations, tax credits, tips for communicating and a deaf-friendly checklist.

The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center at Arkansas State University is a partnership of the U.S. Small Business Administration, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock College of Business and Arkansas State University College of Business.
