JONESBORO — Arkansas State University’s scheduled home rugby match with Clemson University for Saturday, March 11, has been cancelled due to the threat of harsh weather conditions, according to Matt Huckaby, executive director of Student Health and Wellness.
“The decision to cancel the game was reached with consideration for the traveling team, Clemson, and from a player safety view,” said Huckaby. “The forecast calls for a combination of 30-degree temperatures, unpredictable weather, wet conditions and a strong north wind.”
Huckaby said the team is still scheduled to travel to South Carolina to face the Tigers, Saturday, March 25.
“We look forward to the contest with a top notch rugby program,” continued Huckaby. “A-State rugby and Clemson have built a friendly rivalry through the past few years.”
The Red Wolves will host Davenport, Saturday, March 18, at Curt Huckaby Field, 501 Red Wolf Trail, at noon.
