ABI Students to Present Research Findings
JONESBORO – Arkansas State University students selected to take part in the Undergraduate Research Scholar program at the Arkansas Biosciences Institute (ABI) at A-State will exhibit their research findings at a presentation scheduled for Friday, April 28, at 3:30 p.m., in ABI room 107.
The ABI Undergraduate Research Scholar program is dedicated to enhancing the academic experience of first and second-year undergraduate students with opportunities to participate in hands-on research and creative work with faculty and staff.
The presentation is open to all students, faculty and staff, and refreshments will be provided. The students and their presentation titles include:
Faith Allen of Jonesboro – “Exploring the Potential Role of the Ab1 Kinase in Linking CAP1 to ERK and Breast Cancer Cell Invasiveness and Proliferation.” Mentored by Dr. Jason Zhou.
Hannah Kling of Monticello – “Influence of Extracellular Environments on Neural Differentiation.” Mentored by Dr. Malathi Srivatsan.
Tristen Wright of Paragould – “Engineering ‘Designer’ Glycopeptides as a Molecular Carrier for Directing Protein/Enzyme Accumulation in the Plant Cell Wall.” Mentored by Dr. Jay Xu.
Parker Knapp of Hot Springs – “Establishment of In Vitro Cultures of Muscadine Grape: A Biotechnological Approach for the Production of Bioactive Compounds for Human Health.” Mentored by Dr. Fabricio Medina-Bolivar.
The ABI is located at 504 University Loop on the A-State campus.
