Academic Partnerships/A-State Online Class Gift to 'Grow the Pack'
JONESBORO – Academic Partnerships, the firm that markets Arkansas State University's online programs, today presented a $2,500 gift to the Endangered Wolf Center near St. Louis in the name of five members of A-State's Class of 2018 who earned their master’s degrees online.
The gift from AP will help support the center's work with preserving America's most endangered mammal species. A-State wildlife ecology students in the Red Wolves 4 Red Wolves organization work with the center.
Elizabeth Rogers, vice president and managing director of Academic Partnerships, announced the class gift.
"We are always looking for ways to support the online students and tie them to campus," she explained, "so this is a way that we can support some of the academic initiatives you're taking here and bring our online students into that same family."
AP will select five students from the 2018 summer graduating class and pair them with red wolves at EWC in a program AP is calling "Grow the Pack."
Regina Mossotti, director of animal care and conservation at EWC, was present to express appreciation for the gift from AP and discuss the opportunities for A-State students.
"Being about four hours from the university and having this amazing partnership when we are literally helping save the critically endangered American red wolf is exciting," she said, adding the opportunities for student involvement at EWC are numerous.
Dr. Tom Risch, interim associate vice chancellor of research, and Shayn Goodling, president of the campus Red Wolves 4 Red Wolves student organization, also expressed their appreciation to Academic Partnerships for the support the gift provides.
Chancellor Kelly Damphousse added he is glad to see the return of a class-gift tradition coming from the online program.
