Agribusiness Event Features U.S. Farm Report’s Tyne Morgan
JONESBORO – Arkansas State University’s annual Agribusiness Conference luncheon on Wednesday, Feb. 13, will feature Tyne Morgan, host of "U.S. Farm Report," a nationally televised program that focuses on agriculture and agribusiness.
A native of Missouri, Morgan is doing what she calls her "dream job." Born and raised in Lexington, Mo., by a family with generations in agriculture, Future Farmers of America was a big part of her high school career. Through public speaking and various contest teams, she plunged into broadcasting at age 16, working for a local radio station.
At the University of Missouri she majored in agricultural journalism, with an emphasis in broadcasting. During her college years she was a farm broadcast intern for Brownfield Ag News, and was the 2006 Missouri State Fair Queen, serving as an ambassador for Missouri agriculture.
After working as AgDay and U.S. Farm Report national reporter, Morgan recently was named the first female host of U.S. Farm Report. She’s only the fourth host of the show, following Orion Samuelson, Max Armstrong and John Phipps. She and her husband James have two daughters.
This is the 25th year of the Agribusiness Conference, where farmers, agribusiness professionals, students and educators across the Mid-South learn timely information and hear updates on agricultural policy, according to Dr. Bert Greenwalt, professor of agricultural economics and conference director.
On-site registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. in A-State’s Fowler Center, 201 Olympic Dr. Lunch will be served in the First National Bank Arena, 217 Olympic Dr., at noon. Afternoon sessions end at 3:30 p.m.
The conference qualifies for continuing education credits according to the guidelines of the Arkansas State Board of Public Accountancy, Arkansas Certified Crop Advisors and Arkansas Agricultural Consultants, and the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers.
