The workshop is “Starting a Business in Arkansas: How to Get a New Business Started Right,” from 9-11:30 a.m. and is aimed at anyone who is considering starting a new business and wants to make sure that the business has the best potential to succeed regardless of economic conditions.
“If you are going to start a business in 2014, then this seminar is the place to start,” said Laura Miller, director of the SBTDC.
Topics will include business plan keys for success, legal requirements, licenses, fees and permits required by Arkansas, how to determine the feasibility of the business idea, common pitfalls to avoid, information about financing options and more.
In conjunction, a seminar, “Small Business Loans: How to Find Capital to Start or Expand Your Business” is also available and will be conducted by Robert Bahn, business consultant at the SBTDC. The seminar is designed to show attendees how to use a variety of options in finding financing for their venture.
“Getting the financing you need is never an easy task for a small business,” continued Miller. “In today’s challenging economic times it can be even more difficult. But funding can be found if the entrepreneur knows where to look.”
