Arkansas State Will Reopen Monday, June 9
JONESBORO -- Arkansas State University will be open for classes and normal business operations Monday, June 9, officials announced.
Campus activities scheduled for this evening will go on as planned. The Testing Center in the Reng Student Union will open Saturday, June 7.
Monday's registration session for incoming freshmen will proceed as planned for those who have scheduled their campus visit.
Contractors, City Water and Light employees, and university staff worked diligently today to get the campus ready to reopen. They responded quickly to wind and water damage from a Thursday storm.
Their work included removal of tree limbs and debris to make the campus safe and accessible for pedestrians and traffic, restoration of electrical power, and repair of the Administration Building roof. Numerous employees in that building had to be moved to temporary quarters elsewhere on campus while water-damaged offices are fixed.
