JONESBORO – Five students in the Department of Art and Design at Arkansas State University won American Advertising Awards (formerly known as ADDYs) in competition conducted by the American Advertising Federation, district 10. Their work now advances to national competition.
To qualify for the district judging, the five students previously won gold or silver-level awards in the contest conducted by the AAF Northeast Arkansas chapter, according to Leslie Moore, chapter president and instructor in graphic design at A-State.
At the district level, Claire Case of Jonesboro and Lui Huang of China won silver awards for their respective entries, "Giving Grounds Coffee" and "Logo Style."
Destani June of Jonesboro, Jordan Lewis of Bono and Austin Sandy of Jonesboro won bronze awards in the district contest for their entries, "Dove Wild Child bar soap collection," "Make It Pop: A Book of Secrets," and "The Brides," respectively.
The A-State students' entries were judged against work by students throughout AAF's district 10, which includes chapters in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas.
