Art + Design Students Win Awards in NEA Addy Competition
JONESBORO – The Department of Art + Design at Arkansas State University announces student winners from this year’s American Advertising Federation, Northeast Arkansas chapter.
Graphic design major Justin Mohler of Jonesboro won the student’s coveted Best of Show for Stax Music Academy, a real-world client assignment from Professor Kim Vickrey’s photography for the graphic design class.
He also won a Gold Addy for this entry.
Mohler shared a Special Judges and Gold award for "What Can Drawing Do For You" with classmates Alexa Herring of Jonesboro, Neil Williams of Harrison, Muge Li of China and Brittney Clayton of Dyess.
Mohler also won a Gold and a Silver in the photography category for the Stax Music Academy, as well as a Bronze for his poster design for the student AIGA Club’s Southern Student Graphic Design Show.
Herring, a senior graphic design major, won a Gold Addy and a Special Judges Award in the campaign design category for “What can drawing do for you,” created for the Art + Design Department at A-State. In addition, Herring won a Bronze award for a class assignment in Professor Nikki Arnell’s advertising design class.
