ASU Museum Celebrates El Día de los Muertos
JONESBORO – Arkansas State University Museum will host "El Día de los Muertos" on Tuesday, Nov. 1, from 5 to 7 p.m. This is a free event.
Everyone is invited to come as they are or to arrive in costume and enjoy Day of the Dead festivities. Visitors may dance to the music of troubadour Ricardo Puello and enjoy Mexican desserts and traditional punch, coffee or Mexican cocoa. A variety of hands-on activities are options for all ages, and face-painting will be available.
"Our thanks to the Hispanic community and to A-State Hispanic students for their collaboration on the building and design of a beautiful El Día de los Muertos altar," according to a museum spokesman. "Those in attendance may respectfully observe this altar, the purpose of which is to honor deceased ancestors. Flowers, candles, photographs of the departed, and various treats help make each altar as unique as the souls they respect."
