ASU’s ASBTDC to host information session for university researchers, high-tech entrepreneurs Feb. 26
JONESBORO, Ark. — The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center (ASBTDC) will host an information session for university researchers and high-tech entrepreneurs on the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs Tuesday, Feb. 26, at Arkansas State University.
Through SBIR/STTR, federal agencies annually invest $2 billion in innovative research and development work performed by small firms. SBIR and STTR funds are competitively awarded in three phases by the participating agencies in the form of contracts, grants or cooperative agreements. The programs support small business research and innovation that meets specific agency needs and leads to state-of-the-art product development.
“Introduction to SBIR/STTR” is set for 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Delta Center for Economic Development. There is no charge to attend the seminar, which is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Pre-registration is required and is available by calling (870) 972-3517.
ASBTDC’s Rebecca Norman will lead the session and be available afterward for one-on-one consultation. Participants will learn about the basic requirements for SBIR/STTR, methods for assessing qualifying technologies and research projects, proposal planning and how to get started with SBIR/STTR.
