10/11/2012

JONESBORO, AR – Arkansas State University’s Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC), Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce, and Downtown Jonesboro Association will host a workshop for small businesses in Jonesboro Tuesday, October 16, at the ASU Delta Center for Economic Development building, 319 University Loop West.  The workshop will be held from 1-4 p.m.

The seminar, “How to Get a Small Business Loan,” will be conducted by Robert Bahn, business consultant at the ASU SBTDC.  The seminar is designed to show attendees how to prepare a small business loan proposal for a commercial lender that will get results.

“Getting the financing you need is never an easy task for a small business,” said Herb Lawrence, ASU SBTDC director.  “Preparing a loan proposal that will make the right impression on a commercial lender that will get positive results isn’t easy.  It is critical that you know what the lender is looking for before you submit the funding request.”

At the seminar the speaker will discuss the basics of applying for commercial loans, what needs to be included in the loan application, how to make a positive presentation to lenders, what happens after the loan is provided to the bank, and much more.

Registration is $35 per person ($25 for Jonesboro Regional Chamber and Downtown Jonesboro Association members, $20 ASU faculty, staff and students.) Veterans attend at no charge but must register.
