ASU SBTDC to host Starting a Business in Arkansas workshop Aug. 14
JONESBORO — The Arkansas State University Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC), Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Jonesboro Association will host a workshop for start-up businesses Tuesday, August 14, from 1-3:30 p.m. at the ASU Delta Center for Economic Development Building, 319 University Loop Circle.
The workshop, “Starting a Business in Arkansas: How to Get a New Business Started Right,” is aimed at anyone planning to begin a new business and would like to make sure that the business has the best potential to succeed regardless of economic conditions.
“If you are going to start a business, this seminar is the place to start,” said Herb Lawrence, SBTDC director.
Topics include business plan keys for success, legal requirements, licenses, fees and permits required by Arkansas, how to determine the feasibility of the business idea, common pitfalls to avoid, information about financing options and more.
Registration is $30 per attendee, Jonesboro Chamber of Commerce members pay $20, and ASU faculty, staff and student registration fee is $15. Registration is free to all military veterans and their families.
