ASU SBTDC to offer four-session Introduction to QuickBooks seminar May 1-10
A four-night, hands-on “Introduction to QuickBooks” workshop is being offered by Arkansas State University’s Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC), Tuesday and Thursday, May 1 and May 3, then Tuesday and Thursday, May 8 and May 10. Each session is from 6-9 p.m. at the ASU Technical Center, 5504 Krueger Drive.
Instructors will be Linda Harvey, Jones & Company, Ltd., and Sherry Hensley of Computer Tutor, both certified QuickBooks instructors. Attendees will have an opportunity to learn the basics of this popular computerized accounting program hands-on. Each session will cover different aspects of QuickBooks.
Participants should be comfortable operating a personal computer in a Windows environment. Session I (Tuesday, May 1) will cover setting up a new company, chart of accounts, writing checks and bank reconciliation. Session II and III (Thursday, May 3 and Tuesday, May 8) detail issues with inventory, adjusting and reporting inventory, invoicing, as well as accounts payable and receivables. Session IV (May 10) shows how to set up information for payroll. Each session is designed to stand alone, but attendees are encouraged to attend all four evenings to get the most out of the series. Seating is limited to 20 participants.
Registration is $75 per workshop or $225 for all four nights (a $75 savings) Jonesboro Chamber, Downtown Jonesboro Association members and ASU faculty, staff and students pay $165 for all four nights.
