ASU SBTDC to Offer Small Business Marketing Workshop Aug. 27 in Mountain Home
JONESBORO, Ark. — A seminar for small business marketing entitled, “Get Listed Locally: Claiming Your Business for Local Search,” will be hosted by Arkansas State University’s Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC), Tuesday, Aug. 27, from 1-4 p.m., at the Baxter County Library, 300 Library Hill, in Mountain Home.
“Even if you are not using social media or have a website, people are searching the Internet for information about you, your business location, your products and services,” said Herb Lawrence, SBTDC director, who will conduct the workshop. “They are using smart phones, mobile phones and mobile GPS systems to locate you. The question is, have you made it easy for them to find you? If not, your competition has.”
Throughout this three-hour, hands-on seminar, Lawrence will show attendees simple online accessible tools and websites that will ensure businesses are found locally. Even if the business doesn’t have a website, he will also teach how to create unique marketing messages that stand out from competition.
“Get Listed Locally” will show those present how to improve their search ranking on Google, Bing and Yahoo. Those attending the workshop are encouraged to bring their laptop computers if they have one.
Registration is $35 per person, $25 for Mountain Home and Norfork Lake Chamber of Commerce members and $20 for ASU-Mountain Home faculty, staff and students.
