10/04/2023

JONESBORO – Science and creativity-based activities will take center stage at Blast into STEM on Friday, Oct. 20, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Arkansas State University Museum.

Among many other activities, visitors can make their own “spin-art nebula,” explore star formation and participate in an escape room-inspired moon adventure.  “Museum guests will engage in a variety of hands-on activities in the awe-inspiring field of space science that will enable them to connect with current NASA research,” said Jill Kary, A-State Museum curator of education.Kary said these endeavors are a fun way to introduce guests to the ongoing research happening at NASA in the fields of planetary science and astrophysics.

This event is being held as part of the Arkansas Science Festival, which will be held at A-State every October.

“Space science is a perfect theme for the Arkansas Science Festival,” stated Kary. “The mysteries of space are endless and so much fun to learn about.”All Blast into STEM learning activities were developed by the National Informal STEM Education Network (NISE Net) and were paid for by NASA.
