Candidates Set for A-State Student Government Association Election
JONESBORO – Elections for Arkansas Student University’s Student Government Association (SGA) will occur this week.
Louis Gonzalez, a junior biology major from Kansas City, Mo., is seeking to be the next SGA president. He is running alongside vice presidential candidate Chauncy Betts, a sophomore strategic communications major from McGehee.
Also running for the role of SGA president is Jake Williams, a sophomore business administration major from Piggott. His running mate for the vice presidency is Kate Malone, a sophomore strategic communications major from Germantown, Tenn.
A debate took place on Monday, March 17, allowing students to meet candidates vying for their vote.
According to Danny Vivar, assistant director of student leadership, voting will open at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, March 19, and conclude at 9 a.m. on Thursday, March 20.
Students can vote by going to the SGA Instagram page. Election results will be announced at noon on March 20 on the first floor of the Reng Student Union.
